I'm a newly diagnosed T2 - although I've know it was coming for quite some time because my grandmother was diabetic, my father, and my two sisters also! I've met with a diabetes educator, and I've been started on Metformin - 500 mg. twice a day to start but today my doctor boosted me up to 850 mg. three times a day. My BG readings have bounced around from 112 to 360 - unfortunately mostly toward the high end of the scale. So, I have lots of work to do but it's nice to know there's such a wonderful resource as this Forum available.

Welcome~ :)
It's not easy getting blood sugars to level out, that's for sure :D, but all we can do is keep working on it. So don't give up! :)
This is a wonderful website here and I think you will be very pleased to have found it...it has lots of supportive, informative, and friendly people and information here.
So please feel welcome here and hope to see you around!

Good evening and Welcome! This is a great place to find support and info, as well as for making new friends. I think you'll learn a lot and enjoy your time here. I'm T1 for 13 years. Sounds like you have just as strong a family history as I do. I look forward to getting to know you better, and wade on in when you're ready!
Nice to meet you,
HeatherP
