Has anybody used this product,
Im thinking of starting on it to burn some fat, while getting more definition around my muscles, it says that a diabetic should use it only under supervision, my GP said its safe but it contains chromium in it which increases insulin sentivity, so one would suggest to have some carbs before and after a workout, but is there anything else in it that can effect me? is the caffeine a problem, 1 capsule has 100mg of caffeine.

George,
I would caution you on the use of these fat burners. As a diabetic you are more likely to experience bad side effects from some of these ingredients, particularly with your blood pressure. I believe this one is Ephedra free, but it likely contains other ingredients that may have a serious impact. I have taken things like green tea extract as a fat burner safely. Should you choose to use this type of product, I would recommend that you at least monitor your blood pressure yourself several times a day and if you have an adverse affect, you will at least see it and can respond before you have a problem.
In the end, your diet and exercise will be the key to losing fat.

I agree with Jack. These products are mainly a gimick to get money. GPs on the whole do not stop to examine all the side effects for an individual.
I know it does not do it fast enough but diet and exercise are the only sure fire ways to loose fat! Believe me I have tried enough pills to be the voice of experience.:( Now the Zetia does help because it blocks fat absorbtion in the digestive track but you still have to burn off what is already stored in the body!!!!
Good luck building muscle.

Decreasing fat will improve definition around your muscles, a pill cannot increase definition, it is a byproduct of thinning skin.
Being a diabetic, I would think doing it the natural way of improved diet and exercises over the long term will put you in a much healthier place.
I think those pill really only help the people selling them.

I have read that this is true on weight lifting sites.
As for the hydroxycut, I would stay away. It's just a sales pitch, and the only reason people lose weight on them is because when they take them they also tend to eat better and exercise more anyway. None of the studies that show them to be beneficial to weight lose are done when nothing else is changed.
You mentioned that with the addition of chromium that it would be beneficial to eat carbs after exercise. Many studies have shown that eating carbs with some protein immediately after exercise is necessary to aid in the recovery process. Since insulin is an anabolic hormone, it is needed to rebuild broken down muscle. Protein alone will not stimulate insulin release.

Kyle brings up an interesting point. I eat measured carbs at only two times; breakfast and after exercise. I read a book that seemed well researched and is well thought of, that argues that nutrition timing is important (Amazon.com: Nutrient Timing: The Future of Sports Nutrition: John Ivy, Robert Portman: Books (http://www.amazon.com/Nutrient-Timing-Future-Sports-Nutrition/dp/1591201411/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1211546138&sr=8-1)). For the last six months, I've been taking specific measured carbs with protein after workouts. As Kyle mentions, insulin is an anabolic hormone. We have all had beat into us, that insulin is the key which enables glucose to enter our cells (particularly muscle), but this book argues that insulin is also key to enabling the uptake of protein. I have found that my recovery is markedly better using this method.
