So the next two weeks I am away from home and living out of a hotel outside Toronto. Breakfast was OK as they have a buffet... so I filled up on scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. I am teaching the course, so now I find myself stuck in the classroom over lunch catching up on other work, but no matter... they had brought in some Tim's donuts and muffins for a snack. OK. So a bran muffin with raisins should be fine... check it out on the Tim Hortons Nutrition website... (http://www.timhortons.com/en/menu/nutrition-calculator.html) 59g of Carbs WTF  So much for lunch :(

Their menu is Diabetic porn!

I loved Tim's the times I visited Canada, missed it when I was home, then you could get their coffee and donuts here and then ... I developed Diabetes!

Still have the odd Tim Horton latte as a treat, haven't had one of their sinfully wonderful donuts since last November.

I feel for you Frank, leading all day training courses is a b with an itch, they seem to be so draining and things like Tim's are often the staple diet.

Got a serious love for the Tim's coffee and a muffin on the way to work. The muffins are killers but tried a super bolus today for the first time as I realllllly want to eat them. Don't know any other solution to cut the post muffin spike. As Xmenace says - once is not trend. So will try it a few times.

stick with the coffee.... LOLblack... with no cream... or sugar :o

When Tims first came out with their Breakfast Biscuits they were advertising them all the time (or so it seemed to me :) )... one day I broke down and went in for one, but while there had a long sideways glance at my old favourites the Boston-creme filled donuts.... but I stuck with the Biscuit thinking that it had to better for me than all that sugar. After I had eaten it I went on-line to check the nutrition info, only to find out that I would have been better off with the donut!

I've done ok with their veggie sandwich on whole wheat, low fat creamcheese.

Have switched over to their steeped tea with milk. I don't trust them with their coffee anymore. The last time I ordered coffee with milk and artificial sugar...it wasn't, and I got quite a spike. The coffee was the only thing I had that would have done it to that degree, I was bang on with my eating plan.

Really kinda burned me...likely the counter folks thought I was asking for the artificial sugar because I was dieting. Now I'm "packing"...as in a couple of packages of Splenda and if I order coffee somewhere it will be black or with milk and I'll add my own sweetner.

They have a Tim Horton's in Dublin Zoo if you get that craving :) ...

And yet do they know Tim Horton was a professional ice hockey player.
The only thing I ever crave from Tim's is a Turkey Bacon Club.

I just returned from my first trip to Canada (Quebec City and Montreal Grand Prix)...trip was wonderful.

I made my husband exit to visit a Tim Horton's...my first! (Somewhere out in the boonies at a gas station...)

Not much on atmosphere, but the do-nut holes were wonderful. Unfortunately, I think the gentleman behind the counter had a difficult time with the word "do-nut-holes"...what are they called at Tim Horton's? My french was only making it worse, so I pointed.

Too good!

Yum! I loved the little box (for saving carbs for later!)...

I think my Tim's location had the shelf labels in French, maybe with English in small letters underneath. But, I must have missed the Tim Bit label completely.

Yes, the Montreal Grand Prix was exciting. We rode the boats out to the VIP tent (we're normal...) and sat at a comfy table across from the finish line. Huge buffet lunch and drinks all afternoon. Too hot to eat much, though!

Lewis Hamilton drove like the little ladies at my grocery store! That rear-end collision happened leaving the pit in front of us, but the guard barrier blocked the view. Everyone screamed at the overhead TV's... I was cheering for Massa for the simple reason that I like his photo in the race program (good teeth means well-maintained engine...right?)

The race was so fast you really couldn't see the cars. It was a great experience. Hot, but fun!

I'd go back to Canada just for the Tim Bit's!

Believe it or not, but Quebec actually has language laws AND language police to ensure that French signs and labels are a prescribed size larger than the English  They are so worried that French is losing out to English, but what they don't take into account is that language is a living, breathing, ever-evolving beast, that you cannot define with laws. They tried a similar approach in France outlawing words such as "Le Weekend" and "Le Milkshake"... but people call things what they call things... that is how language came about in the first place!

Hamilton is a better driver than "pretty-boy" Massa any day of the week :T

You might not have seen the race but I bet you heard it :bike: I wanted to take my 17 year old son but for some reason his Mum thought that school exams were more important :dontknow:

Sorry David

Not to be a party .......... & crasher...LOL. Here is the link to a PDF for the nutrition information for all Tim Horton Products.

Tim Horton... was a great defenseman for Toronto Maple Leafs.
I heard a story that Tim Horton's Dounut shops were bought for an unfair price and his wife was taken to the cleaners after Tim’s death… does anyone know the story here?

Kind of ironic that you're talking about Tim Horton's and fast cars.
He died in a car accident after a hockey game driving his Ford Pantera from Toronto to Buffalo.
