I was hoping to get a little feedback on my situation.

I’m 45 y/o and have been a type 2 since 2000. I’m 5’10” and weigh 195-200 lbs and I jog and cycle fairly regularly with no problems. Last month my A1C was a disappointing 7.2 but could be worse, I think. My BS has rarely gone over 200 and I have no diabetes related problems at this moment.

All my life I can remember tingling sensations coming and going but they never stayed around this long. I do currently have a case of tendonitis in my right arm. It hurts like **** right by my elbow when I grab a jar with my fingers and lift up. For the last few months I’ve been experiencing tingling/numbness in my right arm when I sleep on my left side and periodically throughout the day I’ll get a little tingle In my right fingers/arm and right foot, its not often but its there.

I have a tough time believing it is a neuropathy of any kind and next appointment with my doc I’m going to mention this sensation. Sometimes I think left brain tumor because its effecting my right side. Its funny how objective I can be about other people’s health and such a paranoid about my own.

What do you think, neuropathy?

Well, I'm not all that experienced with neuropathy, but the little I know about it, I would think that your tingling is not from it. I say this because neuropathy seems to first affect the most distant extremities....your feet and toes, not your arms. I have a bit of it in my feet from time to time, so I know what it feels like.

What you might be experiencing is possibly a pinched nerve in your neck. A pinched nerve can make any part of your body tingly like that....I know, I've had those also. It seems to be pronounced as you age, so that might be why it's lasting longer than it used to.

Again, I'm no doctor, but I have experienced things like this before.

Hey Vic,

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine when I had "tennis elbow." I evidently got it from pruning a zillion rose bushes one spring. It is a form of tendonitis. It completely surprised me from out of the blue and was in such a weird place I asked my GP. (I hadn't played tennis for years.) He said it was from having your wrist/thumb in a certain repetative position.

The fix was simple. I already knew it felt better if I pressed on the sore spot and the doc gave me a wrap thingie that did just that--had a bump to push on the sore spot. He also put a brace on my wrist that prevented thumb/wrist movement and prescribed ibuprofen to take the inflammation down. Try googling tennis elbow to see if it sounds right, then go see your doc.
