Well I just got the results of my latest A1c, down from 6.8% to 6.1%. I'm a happy camper, little celebration tonight and then back to work to break that 6.0 barrier.

Heard my liver, Cholesterol levels were fine (results by phone), will get details next week.

Way to go Dave! If you don't watch out, you won't be a "big" Irishman anymore!

Be careful now and don't celebrate for too long . . .

Thanks guys, is great having a place to share even a small improvement with people who really understand what it takes to make an improvement.

Good work Dave. How did you celebrate? :)

I had a nice Chinese takeaway:

- Chicken and Sweetcorn soup
- Breast of chicken curry
- Small portion of fried rice

It tasted so good, funny how not eating something for 6 months makes it take even nicer.

How were your bg numbers after the chinese food?

I haven't had chinese in a while It makes my bg go through the roof. My boys like to go to the resterant "where the man cooks"(Japanese Hibachi). If I eat only half a portion of fried rice and extra veggies its not to bad.

How were your bg numbers after the chinese food?

I was stunned, never went about 135 and I checked 2,3,4 hours after 1st bite, so I guess I "got away with it".

Possibly so, but it was a treat so won't be trying it again for a while as I working on two fronts, good BG control and weight loss, I got away with it from a BG point of view, but bet I didn't do much for losing weight. I did try balance it with a long walk on Sunday.
