Hey everyone!

This Saturday I'm heading down to Fremont with my three little girls. Troy will be joining us on Monday. We'll be there until August 13th.

I'd love to meet any/all of you, so how about I host a BBQ at my parent's house in Fremont? Anyone up for it?

Let me know your thoughts!

Is there no one who wants to get together?

We finally made it here Sunday. Been busy with the family. :) I took the kids to the Silliman aquatic center today...how fun!

Please respond if anyone is interested in a BBQ!

I would love to do it too, but we just got back from going to the coast last weekend. My dh wants to go up to the foothills this weekend to see his new grandbaby.

Well, until my parents leave for their vacation on the 23rd, I'm free to go anywhere. :) Next Tuesday I'm taking the kids to Santa Cruz for the boardwalk, and so I can get some of their yummy fudge! :D

Other than that I have no real plans. I'd be happy to drive to meet people until the 23rd, after that I'm pretty much stuck at my parents' house.

Though Nancy, on the 26th (I believe), I'll be in Rio Linda for a party of an old school friend. I know that's up north, but it's probably still an hour or so from you? I could probably meet you somewhere for coffee?

Um, sure, if I don't eat it all first. I'll just have to make a trip back down there when we're close to leaving to get some more. Any particular requests on the type? They have some crazy kinds there, peanut butter, rocky road, praline pecan, regular chocolate... they also do their own taffy pulling if you like taffy. :D It's a big candy store.

Yes, I do remember. I'd be happy to get together with you anytime, except where it'll put me in traffic on 880! It's gotten way worse since we left here almost 10 years ago... you'd think with all the taxes you people pay, you'd at least get roads with potholes of less than 6 inches deep!

Oh sweetie I'm just kidding. You don't have to bring me any. It was just one of those things that I couldn't pass up on saying. Kind of like "A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, God said, "let there be lips", and there were, and they were good." :D

Cool Rikki. I am not that far from Rio Linda. Maybe thirty minutes. Maybe we can meet when you come up there. I would like that.

Remember to steer clear of I-5. They have it closed down for repair and it is a traffic nightmare. Don't come through town during rush hour traffic as everything has been filtered on to I-80.

Thanks for the I5 tip, Nancy. I knew that it was closed somewhere, but when I drove down I took the short cut (I505) though Fairfield and Vallejo, so I missed all of the part that is closed. I'll have to google map a new way to get there then... would it be better to run up through Fresno and Galt to get up there? The party's on a Saturday, so I don't know if there will be rush hour traffic...?

Used to live in Santa Clara but Chester County PA is just a wee bit far for a weekend visit! :D

I do hope you all can manage a meet though.

As to Mortis' mention of those lips, the best Rocky Horror show I EVER saw (and I've seen dozens) was a matinee in Berkeley on Halloween sometime in the 80's. I get the shivers just thinking about it.

Fun, fun, fun!

I've been to the Berkeley show a few times. I was on cast in Fremont. :) I've been to most showings around the country whenever I was traveling and happened to be there on a Saturday night. :D

Rikki,
Midnight shows are indeed still everywhere but the last few I've been to have been with 'virgins' and while I enjoyed them the newbies were bewildered because the show onscreen was almost completely blocked by the floor show. You almost have to see the movie beforehand on dvd to get most of the gags & quips.

Ah, well. Glad I got in early. :D

Saturday should be just fine Rikki. It has been a nightmare since the work began. I-5 opened today and they will close it down again in a week or so to begin work on the other side. Just check Caltrans website and they will give updates and maps.
