5.4%!!! Got the results on Friday and have been away, so this is my first opp to post!!!

I could not believe it! And i've only been on it for a month!

My doc is a little concerned i am too controlled - he said he would like me closer to 5.8%, as the risk of losing hypo symptoms is quite high now that i'm at 5.4..

I have also noticed my hypo symptoms only kick in at around 3.0mmol/L, whereas previously they would show at around 4.0.

Anyway, i'm very happy with my result! I didn't think i'd see results so fast, but it's obviously working and my Doc reckons i've "mastered the pump" :) I highly doubt that, but i think he was riding a high after seeing my blood results :)

Congratulations! My CDE (diabetes educator nurse) wants my A1c higher because I've lost most hypo awareness. My last A1c was also 5.4 and she wants me at 6.

That's really good Alex, especially if you can maintain an A1c like that and get rid of the lows. Tight control really can hurt the hypo symtoms though. I don't notice lows now until I'm at 2 (36) or lower (1.3, or 23 yesterday) & my A1c isn't as low as yours.

That's a number to be proud of. Well done ;)

Thanks everyone :)

I'm just so stoked! And i've taken his advice and 'lived a little' this weekend, including a block of chocolate for dinner on Saturday night - i woke up and was 6.1, so my Combo Bolus worked perfectly!

I am actually quite concerned about my hypo symptoms. I went to the gym on Saturday morning and was about to get back into the car and felt a little 'wobbly'. I thought it was because it was a hard session, but checked my BGs: 2.3

I think it will now be difficult to get my A1c's "up" - i'm too happy with this number! It will definitely feel strange to be congratulated for a higher A1c :)
