I took 10 units of novorapid as opposed to 12 (nurse said i could cut down so that i could cut down on food to avoid the uber weightgain) so 10 units. Nice biggish dinner [chicken, 3x spring roll, 5ml honey, 2x bread, tea, scone] and then bang just about to go out wiht my friends and im hypo at 3.something.

whereas normally I have something like rice some chicken, a scone with tea and maybe ice cream and i'm ok.

So im confused. Less insulin + more food = hypo ? the maths dont add up so I wonder am i honey mooning.

And it wasn't activity today I did Sweet *8*8 all as my mom was off too so it was a lazy day !

Ideas?

As you were only diagnosed 3 months ago, yes, you are almost certainly honeymooning. It sounds to me like you are injecting too much insulin. 10 units is a lot, especially since you are probably still making a fair amount of the stuff yourself. I am fully dependent on injected insulin, and I would in only inject 10 units to cover a very large meal.

Sounds like you're honeymooning. Lets just hope yours will be a smooth ride with good readings and no struggle!
I remember my honeymoon which was about 3.5 years ago... It was ****! Very unpredictable period of my D life, and more up and down than a rollercoaster...

What's that, 90 or so grams of carbs? I'd be shooting 18u.

You can definately have honeymooning spells. Expect them possibly over the next decade as your beta cells re-generate, die, and do it again.

Nothing's ever simple in this game. If you are honeymooning, it will happen again tomorrow, the day after, and teh day after. If it was a one-time affair, look for other causes.
