No worries... it's a common question. USA uses mg/dl which is your 80 - 120 (and surprisingly for the USA, is actually a decimal measurement!)... most of the rest of the World (and many scientific journals) use the SI units of mmol/l which is your 3.9 - 5.2
For example: 100 mg/dl is the same as 5.56 mmol/l
There is a converter on this site, under ">> Site Navigation"... or if you prefer, you can divide mg/dl by 18 (or multiply mmol/l by 18) :)

In America BG is measured in the numbers such as 120. In Britain it is measured as 5.2 etc. To convert one to the other you multiply or divide by eighteen. (That's assuming you were at school the day the teacher taught the 18 times table!!!)

Also don't confuse the mmol/l reading with the A1c (aka HbA1c):
A1c is a percentage. For example: an A1c of 5.5% is roughly equivalent to an average Blood Glucose of 118.5 mg/dl or 6.58 mmol/l

There is an option to subscribe, under "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread but I've never tried it... I'm a post whore and I'm usually camping out on the "New posts" page :musicus:
