Apparently the result is 4.2 which is perfectly normal.

Is it?

Or is it slightly high?

I'm interested in finding out the figure that would indicate a problem.

Any advice?

normal operating range is between 4-8 milimoles per litre.

under 3.5 mm/L is hypo but being 'normal' you would just feel hungry long before it and probably correct it without even knowing!

Translating your numbers into American I can say that if this was an FBG you are doing better than me.

However, you did get a wake-up-call and you should heed it. You have already noted that you are overweight and you need to do something about that.

You have a long life ahead of you and I think you really want to be a grandmother as well as a mother so begin the long process of managing your life so that you can be a grandmother that is around for her grandchildrens marriages.
