While this is a story about cancer, there might be some application to diabetes, it seems to me. Perhaps Dr. Faustmann might be able to use this type of approach in addition to the wonderful work being done already at the clinic working with diabetes?

I was thinking that perhaps there is bad stem cell in my pancreas, rather than imuno-deficiency issue, based on this story. So, if something could be worked up where the bad stem cells are attacked in the pancreas, maybe insulin could be produced, once again. I'm not counting on that - I'm waaaaay tooo old to care anymore about new stuff. While I may sound like one foot in the grave - not so. I am just patently realistic regarding this type of fringe science and any hope that it may suggest to the hopeful in the immediate short term. Realism rules.
