Im a type diabetic and have been for 18 years now. My A1Cs are good. Lately I have had random red spots on different areas of my legs, usally not more then 2-3 at a time in various areas, mostly upper thigh. Only one had pus. What would the cause of these be? I don't know if its diabetic related or not, but as we all know everything scares us from time to time. They are red spots not too big with dry skin in the middle. They look like a folicle problems but that is not the case. If anyone has the knowlege, please let me know!

If there is no swelling of your legs, and no symptoms, they probably are "Demorgan angiomas" and are benign. They can be easily destroyed with an elective needle or laser administered by a board certified dermatologist. If the lesions are transient and leave any kind of yellow discoloration, they may represent petechiae, and as such you need to see your primary care physician and/of your board certified dermatologist for verification.
I found this on netwellness, same thing my spouse was told. She was advised to leave them alone, that scratching them or more could leave scars.

Hi there, I am a Type 1 diabetic and have been for 20 years now with good control. I have had similar blood spots on my stomach chest and arms some small some bigger that have been there for 10 days. They came up very quickly and I have seen a dermatologist who thinks the bigger ones are cherry angiomas and nothing to worry about but they are investigating further as the little pinhead spots came up very quickly so checking for other possibilities. If they are on the thigh then it is well worth seeing your doctor for analysis.
