I have just very recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. My blood sugar levels was 13.9 when 5 hrs later I felt dizzy and nausiated. I took my glucose reading and it had dropped to 9.1. My question is, is this normal and also how do I get my blood sugar levels to a manageable amount (eg: food, etc...)

You will start to get dizzy, feel weak and lightheaded, not think straight, get blurry vision, and possibly even pass out.

The best way to raise it quickly is to drink some orange juice or pop a glucose tablet. ALWAYS carry some glucose tablets.

I always get really sweaty and kinda tingly in my face, can't think straight. Haven't passed out yet, but has been as low as 37 before (yikes!) My dad is type 2 diabetic and he went into diabetic shock when his got to 40 one time. He got really belligerant, didn't know who we were or what we going on and tried to fight the paramedics when they were giving him the IV, me and mom had to hold him down. He came out of it within 20 seconds of getting that IV though and was SO embarrassed. Definately check it when you start to feel out of the ordinary though.

9.1 is not low. It is actually on the high side. If your BS has been high for a long time as you drop you might feel a little wierd. As you stabalize your BS reading you will feel fine. Learn what is normal BS and try to keep it there. I am a type 1 so my requirements are different but make sure you are striving for good numbers.

You're sugar should be between 5.5 and 8.2 when you're sugar been so hight for a while and it drops to lower level your body assums that its low but really its not its just your body is use to such a high sugar level that when it goes down it feels like its a low sugar symptoms just keep on controling it and your body will even get use to 5.2

Hi everyone,
am a T2 diabetic (I think). I was diagnosed about 3 months ago and have been on Diamicron since. I also stumbled on a (wonder) herbal drug call ELEOTIN and have been on it too for a month. I read alot of impressive reviews about it on the Internet and from a local dealer and have sort of submitted myself as a guinea pig. This herbel remedy is produced in Canada an is reputed to literaly reverse T2 and has signaficant effect on T1.

I haven't reached the point to register any significant changes so am still waiting. I'll post my findings here if anything dramatic happens. Meanwhile if anyone has heard or used the drug, please let me know what you know.

Is there any member living in Nigeria. I need to share some diet tips with them. More like learn some diet tips.

Thanks

I believe i'd credit any improvement you're seeing to the Diamicron rather than any "wonder-herb." There are lots of companies who will try to make money off diabetics and others with chronic conditions promising cures. Once you have diabetes, you will continue to have diabetes. Some are fortunate and can control it with diet/exercise only, while others need a little more help.

Don't put stock in any miracle cures...and definitely don't solicit sales for them here.
