Peter,
I've had that situation too. I think it has to do with the rate of drop as I notice it when my sugar is dropping quickly but not when it sort of drifts low over a couple of hours.
Quite a struggle. I keep trying to get the cgms which will alert me but my insurance isn't in the mood.

MMmm.... I see, I have just had a very heavy carb dinner and I had my bolus at 2.2 / 39.6 and I immediately ate. A test 2 hours later and a 4.0 / 72! Still low??
Quite a struggle. I keep trying to get the cgms which will alert me but my insurance isn't in the mood.

Now that's what I want, A CGMS!!! But no insurance and no job. :( Still my endo is very happy. :)

hi guys
i have this too, definitely 'low' symptoms tend to appear when blood sugar falling fast (this often happens with me if i have a high, a BG of around 10 which i bolus for in a muscle, feel shakey, test and im only at 5 or something). i guess the whole 'fight or flight' is stimulated by the fall in sugar.
the constant fun we have....

Your numbers look awfully low Peter. Sometimes when you have run low for a long time, your body starts to adjust to those low numbers and you don't feel them anymore.
It may be time to move your numbers just a bit higher for a few days, so you low blood sugars don't go un-noticed. Scary. I hate when I don't feel them. :(
