Who suffers from gout

I get gout and many people think its mainly to do with eating red meat and drinking to much, but type 2 diabetics are prone to get gout attacks. I wondered how many members suffer gout and is common among us.

I've had Gout a few times, but it does run in my family. I haven't had it since I became diabetic tho. Also for the record, I'm as close to a non drinker you can get. The only time in the past that I did drink was when I was on vacation and I never got Gout from it :)

I'm also not a big red meat eater either :)
