if you could make a meter for young what features would you want to have and what would you called it?
I would put a cell phone and ipod in mine and it would call my doctor right away if i went too high or too low and i would call it myway:D

I would want one that is small, pretty, and maybe with a way to test that is discreet and quick so I could test without drawing attention to myself in public. It would be nice if it had a place to store and disburse strips and had a built in lancing device. Hey I would like that and I am a grandmother.

I want a prettier one. Like the one touch minis. they come in cute colors but the strips are rediculous and my insurance wants me to use the contour for some reason.

i want one with some of the features mine has already (accu-chek compact plus)... self-dispensing strips, attached lancing device, easy read-out... now, to add to that, perhaps, be smaller, available in colors other than black, i like the cell phone and mp3 player idea as well... maybe even a counter in there to tell you how much insulin to give yourself (of course you would have to load your dosage info and times into it), you know, make it like Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, or the Borg, you know, have the capacity to learn, oh yeah, the Terminator was like that too... a computer that can learn... ok, maybe that's too much but heck, a girl can dream... :ahhhhh:

I want one that jabs harder the less you test. One that would zap mosquitos would be cool too. And if I could fire up the BBQ with it, bonus!

Not just for young people.
Larger flip phone body w/built in lancet, reasonable strip storage compartment.

It would play the Final Fantasy victory theme if the sugar was fine, the Game Over theme if it was high, and the Danger! theme if low.

Let's see...CozMonitor is about the size of 2 or 3 sticks of gum....attached to pump so you can't lose it.....pump has reminders to test....extremely small sample size....uses readily available Freestyle strips....just about perfect.

I forgot to add that I would like one that has a timer/with alarm to let me know it is time to test if I set it when I start eating. Also an alarm to remind me when it is time to take my meds.

Not only would I like a meter that is an attractive color like the Ultra minis, but I would like the meter cases to be anything but the same old color of black. Maybe if the meter cases were bright colors, it would make those of us who have to test multiple times per day a little less depressed.
Ditto to PsychoPenquin's ideas of the meter playing certain songs for certain results. That is so cool!!!

-small meter
-small time to results
-small lancet
-small strip price

Just replace "know" with "now" and it makes more sense.. probably a typo.

yeah have music on it! Thougth reasitcally they are meant to be cheap as chips so that companies give them away. They wouldnt bother adding things to it.
I use an Ascensia Contour and its fine for me. I dont use the silly tags though for marking lunch or snack or whatever. And therefore I dont use the alarm. However its good that I cna just turn all of that extra stuff off and have a simple glucometer!
