I started on a new box of blood glucose strips today after my 17556 ones ran out. As usual I attempted to calibrate my optimal Exceed blood glucose machine with a new electrode. When I put the new electrode into the machine the machine beeped and on the screen appeared an error message. I tried to put the new electrode in 5 times and error message 6 kept appearing.
Then I looked at the numbers on my new electrode. I saw the number on the electrode was 17556( for an example) and looked at my old electrode which guess what! The old one also said 17556 and was exactly the same number as the new electrode. Then I kept trying to calibrate with the new electrode and the old one and got error messages for both.
I got out a new box of electrode number (5598) and blood glucose strips and calibrated my machine. Guess what? It calibrated.
So what is the deal? Do blood glucose electrodes not calibrate when they have the same number as another box? I thought all numbers on the electrodes were different.
