I found an easy way to loose weight - how do i tell every one?
if i knew about this before i became diabetic-perhaps i would have never become a diabetic ever.

In my case i discovered having soups - and eating 6 times daily instead of 2 major meals and just walking 3 miles daily peeled off 2-3 lbs weekly.

But I need to learn more about bs levels control- i am no longer on pills but my bs reading shoot high pretty easily.

i am a new Diabetes type 2- i need help!
I am 46/guy/australia.I am a father, husband and have considerable responsibilities in life still.I have been diabetic for 2 years now.My bs was 300 fasting when diagnosed. I was on amaryl. I was obese. I have since lost 65 lbs and am now my correct BMI weight. I am also walking eating healthy and trying to do my best but I have difficult sugar levels which go quite high some times. I take care in eating right foods - i have a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of fenugreek daily. I am no longer on medication. I walk daily.I want to ask other diabetics what helps them. what doesnot help them.i want to know other diabetic type 2 folk.

Hi greatesttenors,
Sounds like you have been doing a great job adjusting your health routine! I'm type 1, so I'm not sure what specifically to tell you other than a few general comments. You probably know that most of our blood sugar changes come from carbohydrates (as opposed to protein or fat), so keeping the amount of carbs in a meal low, tends to help avoid blood sugar spikes. In addition, exercise tends to increase sensitivity, through two routes so it sounds like the walking you're doing should continue to help stabilize your sugar. In general, increasing the muscle-mass to visceral fat ratio in your body should increase your insulin sensitivity.

If it is just occasional spikes in blood sugar, I have found that going running for about 2-3 miles after eating a bowl of cereal in the morning usually helps keep my blood sugar more stable initially (and then I need a snack a bit later).

Well, I hope that helps, and thanks for sharing some of your strategies!
