Well, I really buggered myself this time. Due to physical stress at my last job, i.e. doing the physical work of two people on a daily basis, I took another job. Only problem is, getting private insurance has been a MAJOR pain. I had group insurance benefits at my last job, they paid pump costs 100%, no-limit blood testing strips coverage, etc. I didn't think it would be this bad switching to a private plan...
Private insurance has said "no" to covering pump supplies, and now says my coverage is limited (3-months' worth for me) for testing strips. I'm in Toronto, Canada - currently using Manulife insurance, has anybody had success with other companies? I'm waiting for government funding (new program) for pump costs, but the blood testing issue is bigger for me at the moment....I'm dumbfounded as to how blood testing can be limited for people like myself who have complete hypo unawareness....
