my son got warts on his feet thru them being passed on at the swimming pool
they lasted about a year, and then they went away
we booked an appt with the dermatologist about 3 months before they went away, but there was a 3 month wait, and by then, the warts were gone
the dermatologist said 'this is normal, it takes the immune system about a year to be able to fight the viral infection, and once you have immunity, you usually don't get them anymore'
end of problem....... it's been close to a year since that appt, and no warts in that time

I had some small ones on my hand when I was a kid. They went away on their own. If you have problems again, call a dermatologist and have them removed. Not a big deal till they hurt!!!

I have one on the end of my big toe that has been there for several years. I don't worry about because it's not a bother and never hurts so I just leave it be.

I used to have several on my hands and feet . . . and once I was diagnosed and started on insulin, they all went away at the same time and haven't not had any since.
Not sure if it was a coincidence or what . . . was weird though.

I know I'm a T2 so forgive the intrusion. Next time you have a wart try duct tape. My podiatrist told me about it and it worked great!!! So much better than the acid disks. It doesn't damage the tissue around the wort like acid does.
And it doesn't cost much.

My daughter got one, and we went to the store and bought the stuff to freeze it off ourself. It fell off about 2 weeks after we did the freezing thing.

I developed two warts on the bottom of one foot that grew inward instead of on the surface of my foot. That was maybe 15-20 years ago. Every time I stepped on a gravel or something that pressed against the warts it really hurt. They were beneath the skin surface and I have heard them called "planter's warts". I finally saw a podiatrist about them and he began scraping away and exposing the warts and then put acid on them. That was $350 per treatment and he intended to do those treatments every two weeks for several months. NO WAY!!! The treatment was very painful and the acid and cutting hurt for days. After the second treatment I stopped going. A year later they caused me no trouble. The hard calous that had formed over them many years ago disappeared and I can step on gravels now with no problem. I think the podiatrist's treatment cut off enough of the warts that they were no longer near enough to the skin's surface to cause any problems. Two treatments were all that were necessary.

That happened to me but right in between my second and third toes. It did take about +/-10 treatments and it was painful but it is better than having a wart there. They scrape and burn each time, I went about once or twice a week I would say. It wasn't even that big. Sometimes you just have to do what you gotta do and suck it up. You have to get to the core of the wart to get rid of it all. The podiatrist just had to make sure that all those little black specks were gone too. So some advice to all...just do it! It is better to get it over with than it continue to bother you.

sounds like it could have been a plantar wart (not sure of the spelling), those get into the root i believe, my father had them when he was young and with the training and wearing of combat boots (he's a sgt in the air force), they became corns that he has to slice off his feet... i tell him not to because he's T2, but he won't listen...
as for normal warts, i had a few on my hands when i was around 10 but they went away around the same time i was given antibiotics for something else... not sure why but that's what happened...
i don't get them now though, maybe because my blood is apparently positive for staph (blood poisoning)... i get tested every 6 months or so and for some reason it just doesn't want to die but it's only come out 3 times since 1997... bizarre... maybe that's what keeps the warts away... i used to also get boils (over 15 from age 8 to 19) but once the staph got in my blood, they went away too...

Ouch...I get warts on my hands/forearms. Sometimes they go away quickly with treatment w/the pads or liquid salicylic acid, but other times they hang on for months, even defying the freeze-off stuff! I finally think I got rid of one I've been fighting since nearly the beginning of the year!
