My name is Kelly and I'm from Canada. I don't have diabetes myself but I am searching and trying to get info for my grandmother who has it. She is type 2 and was diagnosed with it over 20yrs ago. She still doesn't take insulin and it is causing problems for her. I hope you guys don't mind posting on this board. I hope to learn a lot here.

Hello Kelly, and welcome to the Forums! What part of Canada do you hail from, if you don't mind my asking (curiosity on the part of a fellow Canadian - I'm also massing my army in a planned take-over :p )?
We welcome anyone with an interest in Diabetes to join in the support and educational value that this site provides. So please make yourself comfortable and feel free to ask any questions, or post any comments that you feel necessary :)

Happy posting!

Hi Kelly and welcome. The Canadian side of the family sure is growing! :D

Sorry to hear that your grandmother is having trouble. Is she afraid to take insulin, or has she been diet controlled over the years? Thanks for coming aboard and introducing yourself. I'm pretty sure we can help you with any questions you may have, as someone is bound to have had (or has a loved one who has had) similar experiences. Feel free to post away, and once again, welcome. :)

Welcome Kelly, Wow....Tony needs to watch out while Shy is gathering her Troops...(don't think he will give this one up to easily!!!). Your grandmother is lucky to have your searching for her. I try and give my dad advise about his T2 but as always he is a bit stubborn about it..wonder where I get it from??? Anyways, welcome and hope; you find answers that are helpful for you and your grandmother.
