Over the last few days my blood sugar has been slightly too high most of the time. Usually around 9.0 constantly and i think even higher during the night.

Its back to normal now but i feel pretty odd. After having an elevated b.s for nearly a week is it normal to feel worse when my readings are back to being ok.

I keep feeling like my bloodsugar is really high so I test and its perfect! I feel tired and have a lack of energy... like with a high b.s

I think my body got used to my blood.s levels being raised for a while and isn't used to being normal...at least thats what i think..

Does anyone else ever get this?

Laura Lu,
I believe your body does get used to different levels (high or low) and when your level changes back to normal it will feel odd.

When Thomas' levels run high for just a day or so he feels low when he is actually normal.
I hope you feel better soon.

I think that definitely could be the problem. It takes time for your body to adjust to the level you are at, and then when it changes you have to go through a whole new period of readjustment. I usually always feel awful when I am high, but sometimes when I am in the 200 range, I feel just fine. Then there are times, when I am low that I feel sick to my stomach...almost like I would when blood sugar gets too high. However, what I consider the worst is when my blood sugar swings from high to low to high again. It exhausts and wears me down mentally and physically.

I would keep trying to bring your sugar levels down, but be aware that this is going on and not to freak out about it until you test. Keep food on hand if you feel low or are low. And do treat the highs. If this doesn't help, I would talk to your doctor. Maybe something in your treatment plan needs to be adjusted.

I hope you feel better soon :)
