Does anybody use this? How you do feel about it?
Can we get it in Canada?
You guys are going to be so tired of reading my posts.

They do look nice. Wish I could afford one.

The medi-jector I believe uses high pressure to force the insulin through the skin. At the time I was looking at them (13 years ago) there was a very high incidence of bruising. I don't know if that's still the case.
You might want to look into the InDuo. Rzr uses it and likes it very much.
Ooooooooooooooooooooh Raaaaaazrrr! Yoooooooooohoooooooo!

I'm not really thinking about the cost right now I'm just trying to find a solution to getting her to take insulin. I will figure out the money problem after. Maybe fund raisers or the bank. I'm doing a search now on the Induo. Are all these products available in Canada do you know?

I'm sorry, I can't answer that question. I believe BD makes the Induo, so ck their site. I believe Shy said that she used to use it, so I think it is. Check the medi-ject website. You can always contact customer service if it doesn't say whether or not the product is available in Canada.

See, with the Induo you have to insert a needle and that is what I'm trying to avoid.

Whatever works the best for her is her choice. I've found needles aren't that big of a deal, but that's a personal decision.

I agree with you. I think if I was able to get her to do it a few times she would see it's no harder than testing her blood but it's the first time doing it that is the hardest. I can understand her feelings about not having the guts to slide a needle into her skin. Another worry she has also is she is scared to try and learn how to give the needle herself and not be about to do it. Once you start insulin you can't stop can you? If she had a car I think she would be a little braver b/c she would be able to at least fall back on the nurses for however long it took. Right now I have to put all my energy into getting her on insulin and getting her eyes check on no matter what the cost, will to a limit I guess. It's a horrible thing to say, I mean there should never be a limit on the cost of life. Gosh, I wish I was rich.

The size of needles you can get for the InDuo makes injecting something you don't even notice.
31 gauge/ with 1/4 inch needle, it's worse having a mosquito bite you.
Once you start insulin you can't stop can you?
I don't believe so, except MAYBE for Type 2 under VERY limited circumstances.
BTW, even tho the InDuo and the Pen are very similar, IMO, Pens are much more awhward because they are longer. InDuo is short enough to easily fit into almost any sized hand.
