Hi! Everyone,

I have just recently been diagnost as a diabetic paitent. For the last couple of months I have been losing weight consistently and I feel extreme fatigue immediately I take breakfast. I feel completely burnt out. My H1bAC is 7.0%. Not taking any medicine.

Can anyone tell me how can I remove my fatigue?

Hello and welcome to this helpful & fun site as we can answer most questions. I cannot answer your question over fatigue but there is a group of people who count carbs.

Enjoy your stay. :)

Hi and welcome to the forums....

I started on a low card food regime as soon as I was diagnosed and I credit that with making a difference to me feeling fatigued all the time.

Arif,

Welcome to the forums, glad you found us.

In relation to the fatigue, this is something I was experiencing around the time I was diagnosed, I was constantly tired and sleep didn't help. It turned out to be related to my high blood sugars, when I got control and reduced my sugars I could not believe the difference it made, I was (am) full of energy.

Certainly watching my carbohydrate in take has made a huge difference in the control of my blood sugars. I'm not talking about something like aitkens, just watching how many carbs I eat and going for low carb options. I tend to avoid white bread, white rice, pasta and potatoes as they are so high in carbs.

Are you testing you blood sugars? How often do you test? Have you modified you diet?

I would highly recommend a book called "The First Year: Type 2 Diabetes" by Gretchen Becker. I found it easy to read and very informative.

Visit here often, ask lots of question,

Hello and welcome to DF! What type of diabetes were you diagnosed with? Are you watching carbs? Tell us a little more about yourself.

Hey Arif, welcome aboard.

Couple things you should do to help people help you.

Go into the control panel and add your diabetes type so it shows up under your name, thats where people look, add your location (state/country at least) so people don't recommend buying something at Walmart if you live in Iceland ;)
Putting your a1c and other such data in your signature gives people some background data when trying to help also ... include meds when you go on them.

And lastly, when you say you ate breakfast you need to tell us what was for breakfast ... and what your diet usually consists of is helpful also.

Now onto your specific question .. if you've lost a great deal of weight recently are you taking vitamins now? Rapid weight loss can cause your body to also flush many vitamin stores leaving you short on many vitamins needed for energy.
Also if your diet is high carb it can cause huge swings in blood sugar levels which I can say from recent experience can leave you feeling wiped out.

hi arif! and welcome aboard.my fatique was directly related to my high readings. so; as you get your numbers down you should feel better. the exercise should also help. yea, we need to know if you are t1 or t2 and what meds did you start on. the big thing i learned is not to expect immediate results, this is a process and you have to give it time for the meds to get going. good luck, peace and coexist.....rick
