Hello everyone...I really need some helpful information about this... This past week my vision has been a little blurry. Just yesterday when I left work My vision got worse, It got kind of dark and blurry and I felt like I was really dizzy and like I could not see well at all... My heart started beating real fast and i started shaking all over. I felt as if I were going to pass out. It really scared me. I could not even go get my kids at daycare... I had to have my mom drive me...I am 25 years old and my dad has diabetes...he has to take insulin shots everyday... Is this a sign of diabetes... everytime my sugar has been checked it has been 86... is that good or bad? and it has not been checked in over a year... my vision has gotten bad during this past week and i dont know why... i dont wear glasses so it is very scary to me... can anyone please help me on this?

Go and see you doc and let him do some blood work on you. It could be stress thats brought on your symptoms, it sounds very simular to a panic attack.

Hi alanette and welcome :)

I can't tell if you're diabetic from what you've said, but I would definitely get it checked out. The longer you leave it, the worse it will get. And, if it's not diabetes, then your doctor will be able to work out what else is causing the blurred vision.

good luck, and let us know how you get on.

oh, by the way, 86 is a good number, but you need to check it now to find out if it's increased. Either way - you need to see a doctor.

I agree w/ everyone...definitely have it checked out.
I know I go hypoglycemic...lately, and even my husband has mentioned, I use the bathroom a LOT more than normal and can't seem to quench my thirst. They say I've lost weight, but I guess I just don't "see" it...my vision, even though I do wear glasses, is all funky, and the headaches are horrid and my body aches.
I checked my sugar today after some liverwurst and crackers, and it was 86, so I don't know what to think. I'm thinking, for me anyway, it's probably just stress. I'm praying it's not diabetes(no offense anyone!!!)...oh yeah, and I'm tired all the time.
I wish I had health insurance for myself, that would prompt me to seek some medical attention.

The cheapest thing to do is check your blood 2 hours after you eat your next meal.

The BEST thing would be get checked by a Dr.

My doc always suggested checking my son out by doing the carb overload breakfast: orange juice, pancakes with real syrup
and lots of bacon. If his bgs were normal after that in 2 hrs. he said not to worry but if raised , he said he would have him make an appt and have it checked out.

Try not to stress yourself out too much as that darn stress
can affect your bgs also.

Hope all turns out ok for you. Please keep us informed as we'll
be hoping things go ok for you.

Hi alanette,

The only person who can tell you for sure whether you have diabetes is a doctor. Even though most people here have experienced the symptoms you have mentioned as part of their own diabetes, those same symptoms can also be attached to other things, and may only be a passing condition in your case. To put your mind at ease, see a doctor immediately and don't put it off.

Best of Luck.
Keith
