Hi I was diagnosed fours ago with type 3 diabetes. My A1c has always been slightly over 5 which is good I guess.
I taking Novolin NPH. I been instructed to take two 20 unit doses per day. That's it. I have not asked my doctor about it because the tests come back good. Eyes, feet, heart show no deteroration (sp).
What I've been doing is taking a reading and if above 120 then take a dose depending on how far above 120 it is.
I realize that NPN takes a while to act but this seems to work even tho it not the way it is supposed to be done.
Question: can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to take 20 units per day?
TIA
