It should be on your script. Otherwise, call your doctor and find out! :o

Until I made the change from NPH to Lantus I didn't realize how much it was bothering me. I would have major lows like clockwork before lunch every day. I was increasing the NPH to bring down highs and instead making myself go lower than ever due to the peaking time. Lantus was much better, although towards the end of the day when it was wearing off my numbers seemed to creep up - I think it has an 18 hour life, but I took it only once a day. I'm on a pump now though and have been amazed at the improvements in my blood sugars and overall quality of life. There's quite a lot of board discussion on Lantus, some people had concerns, but it was a changing point for me. Good luck with whatever you do.

I had the same problems with NPH although it would hit me around 3pm. Lantus also didn't last 24 hours and when I took it once at night I'd wake up low and be high by dinner. Splitting it in two doses helped some but the pump was the best solution.

the only problem i was having with the N was waking up high in the mornings and not meeting my target numbers...other than that im pretty okay during the day.
