Baby looks great, and is measuring about 4 days behind now, rather than 6ish days... I'm 12w1d today.

NT was 1.4mm, so the perinatologist went ahead and adjusted the risk of Down's from 1:385 to 1:1840 or something like that. The numbers for the Trisomy 17 and 13 went way down as well.

An interesting note, the peri told me that they wouldn't do the quad screen on me because an IDDM's blood would invalidate the results. He wants me to come in again on Jan 5th for the 16 week scan and then he thinks I won't need to see him again until later in the pregnancy.

He was also very approving on my wish to not be induced. He said that he'd talk my OB into not inducing me until 40 weeks period. Though he did say that we'd revisit the plan at 36 weeks, just to be sure (which would probably include an NST and another u/s). With my history of smaller babies, he was very willing to say 40 weeks and going into labor naturally would be fine. Though, he said no more than 40 weeks...so I'm going with the due date the u/s said, which is like 6/25.

The new u/s pics are up if you'd like to view them here (http://gallery.akropolys.com/v/baby_v6_0/).

susanWell, you know it will be summer when I have this little one... who knows, maybe we could make a trip down to Fremont for a baptism. :)

The ultrasounds are so amazing , thank you for sharing. You're very welcome! There will be more come Jan. 5th. That's the one where they may be able to tell the sex...my kids don't tend to cooperate with that, but we'll see!

It's a beautiful blob! How are you feeling? Hoping for a boy or a girl?

I'm feeling good except for this never-ending cold I seem to have caught. All the docs will let me take is diphenhydramine, which doesn't help a cold, it's for allergies (and sleep...which is what I use it for). So, that's not helping any.

I'm hoping for a boy. I don't think I'll get that though... I have had one boy, my first, and four girls after him. Through my series of miscarriages, I've come to believe that I'm allergic to testosterone or something, since I know that the twins I carried were boys. So, it's just a theory, but I'm pretty sure that this one will be a girl. Though, I have been having dreams about naming this baby Declan, which is a boy's name, so who knows? We'll see!
