How long does novorapid stay working, after being a injected/pumped?

I think that it starts working after 15 minutes, hits peak action between 1-2 hours, and is cleared from the system after about 4 hours.

it varies from person to person but for me it noticeably starts working with 20 to 25 minutes and is probably 75% done at 2.5 hours and the remaining 25% trails off within the next hour or so. thats if i inject 3 or 4 units which is generally what i need for the average meal; if i take 1 unit as a correction it tends to work more quickly, especially when i put it in muscle...

It's most certainly slower for me as I find the onset is half an hour and may get it's maximum strength in the hour. I will try the longer hyperdrmics and inject in the muscle.

I've just gone up to 40 units ! ! ! : (

Actual dosage amounts and onset times seem to vary wildly and don't seem definitively linked. Although above a certain amount I think it's pretty recognized absorption issues are much more likely.
Me, I have a big problem with more than 3 units Novorapid directly injected. It will then take 40-80 min to start working. Releasing very slowly with my pump instead (say 8 units over 30 minutes as a square bolus) and the uptake is very much closer to "normal", onset in about 20 minutes consistently.
This issue stuffed my MDI up for years. Watch for these problems.

interesting point - i havent tested it extensively but i suspect similar things happen with me.
today i have a really sore throat and headache (so not a great time for testing normal responses), tested, and my BG was 9.3 (167), no wonder i felt so lousy. i was planning on eating my sandwich of 45g carb which i would normally cover with 3 units, so i took 4units of novorapid. after 20 minutes my BG was 9.2 and after 30 minutes 7.9. i was going to wait longer and see how the curve continued. my bread's low GI but i have no doubt that with the background infection im going to spike up to 10, watch this fascinating space LOL :D

i take 18 units novorapid morning along with 30 units levemir lunch i need 16-20 units novorapid supper time 25 units novorapid then if i test around 8-9 pm and i am a little high i take another 7-10 units and at bedtime 35 units more of levemir, love levemir, was on nph and novorapid before. nph did not do much for me but levemir really helps.as for novorapid i would like to know if there is a longer and more effective bolus insulin out there would appreciate some help on this matter, as novorapid at times seems not to do much at times. example wake up bg range 5-7mmol nice eat breakfast after insulin shots, cereal toast coffee, lunch around1pm bg around 12-16mmol insulin shot 16-20 units depending on bg range supper around 6.30pm bg sometimes still in high range 12-20mmol inject novorapid 25 units, but sometimes around 9pm i can really be high in the bg again so more novorapid 7-10 units and at bedtime levemir 35 units. could i do 1 or 2 more basal doses of levemir to compensate or would someone reccomend a change in my bolus novorapid.

While taking Levemir, Novorapid starts working in me from 10 minutes. When I inject novorapid, my blood sugar by 2 points in 15 minutes without food. It works roughly about 75% in the first 2 hours and then trails off in the next 1 and a half hours.
If I take protophane, my novorapid starts working in 15 minutes. It then works roughly 50% in the first 2 hours. And the remaining 50% in the next hour and a half.
For me, Novolog (Novorapid) starts to work within 20 minutes, peaks between 1.5 and 2 hours, and seems to be done by about 3.5 to 4 hours. I generally take very small doses (1.5 to 2.5 units). I try to inject about 20 - 25 minutes before meals. Not always possible, of course, but it definitely works best when I can accomplish it.
Novorapid for me, takes about 20 mins to hit.
Its funny cos the other day i had one of those blank diabetic moments where i gave insulin and could not for the life of me recall if i had given novo or lantus! I gave 10 units of whatever it was. (and my ratio for novo is .3:1)
SO test test test i did.. ever half hour. And i still after an hour could not work out which i have given and give my normal lantus!!
I worked out at about midnight that i had now given 20 units of lantus (my normal day AND nightly dosage)..
ahhhh silly sausage..
