flu/common cold

ive been sick with a cold, sore throat for about 5 days gradually getting better


but my blood sugars are higher than normal, why? cuz ive been ill?

In one word....yup!

The stress your body is undergoing pushes your sugars up....that's why they recommend that Diabetics get a flu shot :)

giving myself more insulin would cure this or no?

Sometimes when I am ill I have to give myself a little extra insulin so I am not constantly running high, as being high makes me feel very grotty anyway... and I don't want that on top of the illness.

I agree with Sarah, more insulin and more regular testing is the only way to go I'm afraid.
