Diabetic tattoos

I am 14 years old and i just today got a tatoo of a diabetic alert braclet it has the little pentagon thing ontop of my wrist and another box on the bottom that says type 1. i think its a pretty awsome, what do u think?

Great idea, but you should have been 18 before getting a tattoo... I'm 23 and still haven't even gotten one tattoo even though i've been thinking about it for years. I wear my medical alert 24/7. I don't wear a dogtag or something, just a discrete T1D on a bracelet. My pump sort of says it all:o

I dont like tattoos so I've just got a dog tag and I have a spare one. Though I guess a tattoo will always be there which is a + and a -

Once I have an income other than my pathetic military retirement again, I will most likely get a medical alert bracelet tattoo on my left wrist. Was thinking of a tat just like a bracelet, chain and all, but changed my mind to make the chain into the tribal band look framing the medical alert logo.

I have a tattoo but it's got nothing to do with diabetes. I've actually thought about getting a diabetic ID tattooed on my wrist but never have. I thought you had to be 18 to get one, which makes me a little suspicious of a 14 year old claiming to have one...

If you search for "diabetic tattoo" on flickr there are a few people who have had this done.

you can get a tatoo at 14 if u have parental consent and my parents wanted me to have my alert braclet with me so they let me and they are bikers so they have tatoos also ill try to get a pic up so u can see...

That is very true that you can get a tattoo at a younger age than 18 with parental consent. In my area, they tend to be even more lenient with that if its because of something like this, and not just "hey, I want a rose tattoo!"
