Does anyone use numbing cream on kids to help with CGM insertions? What kind?

I don't know if this would work for set insertions, but in our dermatology office, doc will give an Rx for "EMLA," a lidocaine based skin cream for people having laser treatments. They rub it on 15-20 minute before the procedures to lessen the pain.

:) Hi,
I didn't know if you had emla cream in USA(or what you would call it:D ) BUT we use it all the time at my work (Children's ward) It is great for inserting IV canulas so should be good for set infusions. We leave it on for about 1 hour before the procedure(don't leave it on for more than 2 hours as it can burn the skin) We get it in made up patch's or as a cream that is applied and a clear dressing placed over it.
