Had my annual eye exam today, and it went pretty well, though a couple of oddities.

First of all, he said I have a mole or freckle inside my right eye. He said it wasn't anything bad, but that in very rare cases, it could develop into melanoma inside the eye, any of you ever hear of such a thing?

Also, he said that I have some sort of calcium deposits on the nerves, again, not a problem unless Glaucoma sets in.

He went to pains to reassure that neither of these was really a big deal, and that I just need to be sure to come in every year for my exam, I'm just curious, and couldn't find anything searching online.

I haven't heard of freckles/moles or calcium deposits. Assuming you saw and actual Opthalmologist and not an Optician, you may want a second opinion. Eyesight is something you definitely want to keep. Some doctors are more aggressive than others, and if there are problems (no matter how tiny) you might want someone else to double check it.

Just a suggestion,
HeatherP
