How often do people here get their eyes checked?
I had mine checked about two months ago, maybe nearer three. I feel like it's too soon to go back again. But today I was stood waiting for a bus looking up at a huge rainbow.... and I could see strange circle ish dotty shapes in my vision. It was only there when I looked to the sky... but i think I should have it checked.
I just feel a bit silly going so soon...

Laura, if you're at all worried, then you should get it checked out. It sounds like it could be a floater (I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I've got one - had it for over 20 years and it's totally harmless, just annoying).
Why don't you phone the optician and explain what's wrong, and see what they say. I'm sure they'll tell you to come in for a check up.
good luck :)

I generally have mine checked every 4 months now, but that's because of the retinoschisis. I used to have them checked every 6 months.
It sort of sounds like it might be floaters to me. I'm under the impression that for they most part, they are nothing to worry about and almost everyone gets them from time to time. I used to get one every now and then and thought it might be something like a speck of dust on my eye, but that turned out to be wrong. If you have a lot of floaters, it could be a warning of a detached retina and that should be looked at immediately, if not sooner. I'm under the impression that with a detached retina, they can go away but you still have the problem.
I feel just to be on the safe side, it might be best to see a doctor about it. Are you seening any "flashes"? When I have them, everything turns white for a moment. If you should have something like that, I'd go to the doctor immediately.

If any us here was actually normal, (LOL) I'd say not to worry, but since you're diabetic too,
Go See The Dr.----with all the things about this disease that we cannot control, going to the Dr. is one thing you can control.

Really? My Dr. and CDE say once a year.
Geez, are they trying to make me go blind?
