i had a 4th laser surgery treatment done on my eyes again today... the doctor told me that it's possible that it's my blood pressure, but since i had perfect bp, and my bs has been getting better in the past few months, i can only guess that it's not new blood vessels but that they were being hidden by the ones she did in september...
has anyone had to deal with this kind of thing before?

So what's been happening? Why the surgery? Were you bleeding? Proliferative or background? How many zaps?
Improved BG levels are associated with bleeding.

the first time, back in may, i had about 7 to 10 per eye, then about the same in july, september was a little less but still in both eyes and yesterday was about 3 in the left eye and about 10 in the right eye, which is odd because my left is my weaker eye...
it's background bleeding, but she said my cornea was perfect... i was barely -1 in my left eye before and now i'm -2... but she said it could be an allergy that caused it... because i could see the lines and some of the letters but others were blurry... but the letters were blurry from the very first line where it's a huge E...
she said it's blood vessels that are leaking behind the cornea... this is all new to me because before april of last year, i never had anything wrong with my eyes...
i'm not sure improved bs levels did it, but i can sort of understand how it can happen... like maybe your eyes gets used to there being a certain level of sugar in the blood and then suddenly it goes down to normal, so the vessels constrict to accomodate the new level... i dunno, i'm just guessing here, i'm no doctor...

I don't know why. Many of us on DF have experienced this. I have.
children with DIABETES - Ask the Diabetes Team (http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/dteam/2007-12/d_0d_eyl.htm)
Worsening of diabetic retinopathy is quite common in patients with type 1 diabetes who become pregnant, as is worsening of retinopathy with sudden improvement in blood glucose control as reflected by a lower A1c (especially in patients where the A1c drops more than 3% in any two-year period; as you say, yours dropped by 3% in a mere three months). Tight blood sugar control is imperative to prevent fetal injury, however, and is best achieved well before patients become pregnant to minimize worsening eye disease. Unfortunately, this was not possible in your case.

Have you asked about Avastin shots? They are supposed to really help.
