for the past 2-3 days i've been having servere dizzy spells, they are worse when i get out of bed in the morning and when i've done a head movement. i had some samples of metanx my podiatrist gave me but when the dizziness started i stopped taking them trying to see if that was the cause but that was two days ago and i'm still dizzy. I've never had anything like this before, except maybe once in college after too many drinks, but now all i can tolerate is diet coke and coffee. but its severe dizziness like vertigo. should i be worried? also i forgot to mention i'm not low either while have the dizzy episodes.

Hey there Christie, I can imagine that this is very alarming for you. It may something as simple as an inner ear problem - hence the head movement dizziness - or it may be any number of other things. The thing to do is get it checked out, as I am sure you have already realized. At the very least call and talk to your Dr - I am sure he or she will want to see you just to check you over. Good luck, Christie and I hope you get to the bottom of this soon. Let us know how it goes.

i thought i'd wait and see for a couple of days to see if it was indeed the metanx giving me a reaction. i also wanted to avoid having extensive tests,it would be nice if i went and it was something simple. but if its not better by mon i will have to go somewhere.

Even if it goes away, keep a record for future reference, just in case. Then mention it to your Dr when on a routine visit. I am sure you thought of that too! :)

Of course i am not a Doctor but it sounds very similar to low blood pressure...as you especially get it when getting out of bed.
Have you been tested recently? Diabetics can get a problem called auto neuropathy which affects the nerves that control things such as blood pressure and the result is that it can make it low..just a thought???

Hi, Sorry you've been feeling unwell. I had something similar in the summer. Turned out to be Labyrinthitis (inner ear infection) Dizziness can be caused by so many things (Im an Audiologist so see many dizzy pts) If it doesnt settle down in the next couple of days get it checked out. It will be likely nothing at all to worry about.

I agree with Bonbra. I would definitely have your blood pressure checked. There is a chance that you are being over medicated for high blood pressure. Don't wait too long. Check with your doc.

I also have gotten dizzyness from ear infections, this is something also worth checking out ASAP, in my book. Diabetes can sadly compromise some people's ability to heal and deal with infection, so not to sound dramatic about it, you may not be able to deal with infections as well as others and just shake it off, and antibiotics may be more inportant to really deal with it.
