Hi I'm Jenn, I'm 24, live in Canada and have been Type 1 diabetic for almost 10 years.
I must say I do not enjoy it! haha.
I haven't looked after myself much since I've gotten diganosed, and I think it's about time I did.
Anyway, someone told me about these forums, so I came here to check them out. :)

I too am 24 and from Canada (Type 1 for almost 14 yrs), so welcome from a fellow Canuck :) Which province do you hail from?
Kudos to you for deciding that it's time to take control! I hope that everything goes well for you, and I look forward to seeing your posts.
Happy posting!

Welcome, Jenn! :)
It's nice to see another new member here at our Forums! :) I know we'll do our best to help you and support you in any way we can...we all need that from time to time. I can't say I enjoy being diabetic either :( , but in a way it made me appreciate how important being healthy is. I am trying to be and stay healthy by controlling my diabetes and, yes, it can be very challenging and aggravating at times. All in all, I've done ok (though, I'm kind of a perfectionist in terms of my diabetes and want things perfect all the time). Right now, I'm on the Paradigm 511 Insulin Pump. There are definitely good and bad things about it. I had thought that it would smooth out all ups and downs, but I can't say it has done that. I struggle with control, but I keep trying. That's all we can really do.
Anyway, I just wanted to welcome you to our group and I hope I see you around. :)

Welcome, Jenn!
Got to thinking (which can be quite the trip) about that song "I wanna be sedated" by the Ramones... and how that title could be changed to "I wanna be Canadian." :)
T1 for a little over a year, here. I'm 33.
