I went to bed at 133 (a little high), did not eat a high fat food (dinner was baked skinless chicken, a serving of brown rice, green beans) the day before and woke up at 276. I didn't sleep well last night but this was an unexpected and unwelcome result. Was it sleep, stress or just a random annoying high?

Hi AnotherT1. Can you fill in the picture a bit? Insulin dosage, how long you've been diabetic, what you'd normally expect in the morning, that kind of thing? Hard to comment without having some kind of context...

I agree 100% with Subby - need more info to really establish a thought on this one.
There is so much that can be a result in a high when you think of it.
- Stress, possibly coming down with something, cold/flue, bad basal insulin.
The possibilities are endless when you think about it :p
If it were me I'd take a look at my evening basal insulin - a reading that high would indicate I'd skipped it, or the insulin had deteriorated. OR, maybe you went low during the night and your morning reading reflected a rebound high.
All rice seems to send me sky high, even a small amount, no matter what variety so I avoid it all. (Only person on the planet, apparently, who doesn't like rice. It's the one starchy carb I really don't miss!)
