Hi all :)

Looks like Walmart has a new meter out, and this one's disposable!! It's called the "NewTek" and comes with 100 pre-loaded and calibrated strips (although I think they think we're fools who'll see this as a draw - don't know about you guys but when I buy a box of the 100's I only have to code once), and when the strips run out you chuck it and buy a new one.
It retails at about $55!!! Darn good for 100 strips and a new meter each time, if I do say so myself!

Have a gander at this meter on the Hypoguard website (http://www.hypoguard.com/newtek.html).

That's not a bad idea for people who like to have a "backup" for cars, etc.

I'm not too keen on it, cause I don't like to throw-away, unless something cannot be fixed, salvaged, or sold for parts...lol
At Wal-Mart, you can also buy the Reli-On or the Ultima for a one-time fee of $8.88, and 100 strips cost $42 (50 count are $21 or so). Reli-On and Hypoguard do have great products & prices, though! Great info., Shy

I have the original Reli-on and I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks, Cin...Yeah, I don't like to throw stuff away, especially when I can't afford to. By purchasing the Reli-On or the Ultima, it's a one time fee of $8.88 (for the meter) and strips are only $21.95 (for 50 count) or $42.95 (for 100 count). :)
