I have had type 1 diabetes since I was 2 (almost 28 yrs) and have been in pretty good control. A1c's usually 5.9-6.2. I am on the Paradigm insulin pump with Novalog. I am in the process of getting the CGMS that goes along with it.

I am only 7 weeks along, but have tons of pregnancy questions. Anyone on the pump & a CGMS that is pregnant or has been? I'm hoping to learn where to have my pump sites while I grow. Also, I'm having to use the Belly Band since my jeans won't button and struggling to find where to put my pump. Also, I'm extremely naseous all the time and the only thing that really helps is to eat. Any suggestions on other ways to get rid of it? I don't want to gain too much weight too early.

Okay, that's probably enough questions for now. Thank you for any help!

If you can get it away with it, pump goes in the bra since few pants are going to have pockets ect... from here on out.

If you need to eat, eat and adjust your insulin, think low cal.. and high fiber. You prob. already know the trouble that will come if you are unable to keep food down or get dehydrated, so, while I am not saying to gain 100 lbs, don't worry if you eat 1800-2000 calories a day to keep the nausea at bay. (think popcorn, gum and green beans )

Get yourself some longer tubing and put pump sites on the arm and butt and legs, tummy is ok for a while but by 20 weeks the uterus will be at the belly button and it is good to get used to the new sites. You may want to try some new types of sites as you give new placements a try.
Get the CGM set us asap and remember to calibrate only when your bg is stable.

MOST Important Congratulations ! And relax, I hope you have a great pregnancy!

Congratulations!!! I can offer no advice on pumping since I was on injections but I'm sure Rikki and others will chime in. I also wish I could help you with the nausea issue, but I always felt worse for eating during the morning sickness lol. Welcome to DF..this place is a life saver!! Also, even though I have managed with a pump during pregnancies, I have made it through two type 1 pregnancies and I know how overwhelmed you're feeling right now so please don't hesitate to ask away!
