Alright, is Type 1.5 just slang for LADA or is it actually a medical term?

I've been told they're interchangeable.

They're not necessarily interchangeable, as MODY is often referred to as Type 1.5 as well.

well now that is a good question.....not sure if insurance recognizes 1.5 separately...think they just care about insulin dependence or not??? would be interesting poll to see what our doc's have in the chart...

Okay Badlands: I know I can be moody but what is MODY?

i am honestly glad i read this , i had not heard of a type 1.5 until i found this forum nor had i heard of MODY or what either was , what i was told type 2 you get pills for awhile then exercise and diet you get off pills and type 1 had to have injections daily ....

it would be nice if the general population of the world as a whole could get educated about diabetes as children , you know give us a heads up , something simple like umm do not eat most of the food you see at the grocery store or fast food ,and maybe just maybe you wont get diabetes . unless of course its genetic ,

Who invariably are too worn out by the dinner table fuss to cook something better for themselves, and then FINISH THE LEFTOVERS.

oh...no left overs...i used to get the "samples" to make sure it was "okay" before serving to the kids...besides if you take it directly from the pan, while standing it has absolutely no calories or carbs...just like ice cream..

utoh..run away thread........

We live in a world of convenience, not necessarily good for us! Look at the line at the local McDonald’s drive thru at dinner time.

Not directing this at anyone on this forum but kids learn by example, watching there parents who tend to be lazy, not exercise or eat properly. Sad but true!

I'd never heard of type 1.5 either until this site. My son is type 1, I'm type 2. What exactly is type 1.5?
