Hi, I have Glaucoma and I will be taking the drug called Travatan for the rest of my life my doctor has told me today. My eye pressure is 28 and it should be below 21 my doctor said. He said my Glaucoma is not real bad but still needs to be treated with eye drops everyday.
Thanks, Rob.

I don't have glaucoma, but my grand father had it. I know that he had to treat it with eye drop everyday either. Because it is a genetic illness, my doctor check my eye pressure every years. I'm ok for the moment.

I don't have glaucoma either. However, my Mother had something called narrow angle glaucoma that was fixed by a 10 minute surgery. I guess her eye was building up pressure because fluid could not drain correctly. They told her if she didn't have the surgery (a little hole lasered into her eye) she could suddenly go blind. She had the surgery and she is fine. Ask your opthomologist about this possiblility.

It's a possibility with the glaucoma. My grand father was diagnosed just in time. But his brother didn't have this chance. When the doctor diagnosed him, it was too late. He lose his vision in about 6 months. Maybe in the 50' I don't know but at this time, there was no prevention like nowadays. Since it is a genetic disease, everybody in the family is checked once a year for that.
