I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 1992. I went on insulin in 2001. Does being a type 2 on insulin mean you are a type 1.5

No... still a Type 2 ;)

Type 1.5 is kinda like a slower onset Type 1; where the pancreas stops producing insulin likely due to an auto-immune response. In Type 2 the pancreas tends to get worn out, after struggling to overproduce insulin for too many years.

fgummett, is correct, but that doesn't really mean anything in the long run---------you still get to BE Diabetic----and no one's gonna kick you out of the T2 Club.:rofl:

Diabetes is Diabetes no matter how you're treating it.

Just make sure you're doing the things to keep you as healthy as possible for as long as possible. You owe it to your family, friends, pets and all concerned.

You especially owe it to yourself.
