Pedicures

This is a question for more of the Ladies out there...

I was wondering if any of you still get pedicures at salons. While I don't go all the time, I do like to treat myself occasionally. However, now I am concerned about doing this with all of the foot issues that come with diabetes.

I guess this would have been another good poll one but I haven't figured out how to do that yet :)

taking care of our feet is important, and what better way to take care of our feet than to get a pedicure? Nails are neatly trimmed, feet are massaged, inspected... sounds like good self care to me!

I didn't get pedis prior to diagnosis but got to thinking it is a good idea. I asked around and got a recommendation for a really good salon and I love going there. It's the only place I will go. The relaxation is such a mood booster, too.

Good to know. I guess I just got a little wierded out b/c there seem to be such requirements for how you are to cut your nails etc.

Glad to know I won't have to give it up!

I wanted to know that answer as well. Thanks for asking it. I agree the important thing is to go to a salon you know is good and clean!

Hey-one more thought-we can have monthly pedicures now because it is good for us and needed. I only go once or twice a year (like before a vacation) but now I am changing that!:)

Actually, my Diabetic podiatrist takes care of this for me.

But he would have a heart attack if he knew what I used to keep my feet and nails trimmed in between visits. Fortunately, my wife is used to it and would never squeal to Dr. about me.
