what is the name of blood test to determine T1.5 ????

Can't rmemeber what test to ask for to accurately Dx Type 1.5. Going for second opinion tommorrow. Waited since August to see this endo. Was it creatine or C-peptide???

C-Peptide will show insulin levels. GAD65 will indicate a presence of auto-immune markers, same as Islet Cell Antibodies(ICA).

My CDE and GP both felt they had enough info about me that ordering expensive test wasn't worth it, especially since my INs. wouldn't pay for it.

I'm curious, does your INs. pay for it or are you footing the bill?

Did not get that far but my MD would NOT do GADS. When I asked about c-peptide he was willing, however ... ???

Hey all,
went to see new endo today. Arrived at 9.15 A.M.Appointment was at 10 am. She saw me after 12.00 I had been fasting and talk abt a diabetic moment...I couldn't remember what test to ask for by the time she saw me. My head couldn't focus on anything. Blood tests were done by 1-1:30. I fasted until 2 Pm. It was a miracle I didn't pass out or freak out!!!
In Canada we pay only a nominal annual fee for medicare.So, to answer questions abt the cost, I did not pay for a C-Peptide test. The other antibody test will be done if this dr finds it is needed based on results of c-peptide. I guess the GAD test is done only after c-peptide tests show a certain level.
