My doctor gave me samples of fortamet 1000 at my last month's appointment. I am going back tomorrow and am worried about getting a prescription. Is generic metformin er the same as fortamet? Although, they are supposed to be the same, I know generic's don't always perform as well as name brands and I think I read something about fortamet having something in it to help with the stomach upset??
