I don't know if there is already a board similar to this but I was wondering if anybody had tips on how to keep your fingers from scaring? I get white spots on my fingers where I have previously tested and it is harder to get a sample later on b/c it's hard. Any tips for a newbie?

Another question... Why is it on some of my blood test it clearly shows diabetes where others don't?

The only thing I know of for sure is rotation. Even rotating a little on the same finger helps...
For me, just a day or two extra healing helps a lot.

rotate fingers. Use the palms by your pinky down by your wrist if you have an alternate test site compatible meter. if you have an adjustable lancet, make sure you have it on the lowest setting that works for you. I heal much better and faster if I use a lower setting on my lancet and have to squeeze my finger slightly to get enough blood.
How many times a day are you testing? There was recently a thread about fingersticks, there may be info that is useful in there as it kind of derailed into where you can test, and such info... try searching "fingersticks".

I test any where from 6-11 times a day, depending on if I am feeling bad, if I am it's the higher number.

lol, you sound like me. My endo complains about how much I test. (one of the reasons he's gotta go) :D
It will get better on when you feel low or high, and will regulate your testing a bit, but there are still funky days where I feel I need to test about every 2 hours all day. Other days I have really good "in the zone" days where I may only test 3 times.

Whereabouts on your fingers are you testing? I use the sides as this area hurts less and scars less too.
