I'll be in San Antonio on a business trip in a couple of weeks, right by the Riverwalk. Anyone familiar with the area? I'm looking for good places to eat - buffets are good cause there's usually some good low-carb choices there, but I'd take other suggestions too.

There are a number of good places to eat on the Riverwalk. Unfortunately it has been so long since I've been there I can really recommend a particular one. I suggest that you look on tripadvisor.com and virtualtourist.com. You can also post questions to their forums.

Have fun - I'm a native Houstonian but my Dad was a native of San Antonio. Enjoy!

Thanks, Laura! I've never been to Texas before & I'm really looking forward too it, even if most of my time is going to be in meetings.

I was in San Antonio a couple of yeasr ago and had a chicken mole that was to DIE for. Not near the riverwalk and I'll never remember the name of the restaurant. Just passing on a fond memory.
I ate at several places on the walk and never had a bad meal. Even the pubs had good food.
You should also go to one of the Alamo tours and follow a docent around. They have a lot of fun info you might not have known. The Texans won the battle. The first one. The second one was not so good.
Enjoy.

Thanks for all the info. I did manage to catch part of a tour at the Alamo - very interesting.
Didn't end up eating too well...but did LOTS of exercise - used the gym, the pool, and walked all over (boy do my legs & feet hurt!!!!)
Should be leaving SA within the hour, if the pouring rain doesn't interfere. So far it says "On Time." I sure hope so because I've got a connecting flight I've got to catch in Vegas.
