Does anyone else take only Byetta to treat type 2? I started at 5 mcg's x2 and after 30 days am on 10 mcg's x2 and the control I am acheiving is amazing.

The reason I ask is that Byetta was created to work along with other drugs, i.e., metformin, etc...I even contacted the pharmaceutical company and they have no information or clinical data re: using it solo.

If there is anyone out there responding like me, kindly give a shout : )

Thanks!

Have a look at this website Byetta (http://www.byetta.com/patient/byetta_information_110.jsp) as you will learn more there. :D

How are your fasting numbers? What was your last A1C?

I had to cut back on my metformin (from 500 mg twice a day to 500 mg at bedtime) because I was going below 70 at my 2 hr readings. I take 5 mcg Byetta twice daily, never being raised to the 10 mcg.
Doc suggested I stop the metformin totally, but I have a great deal of insulin resistance which it helps with.

I think if the Byetta is giving you the numbers you want, why add anything extra if you don't need it?
