So lately I have found it extremely hard to tell the difference in my yuckiness with compared to just yuckiness!

Also when I do know it's not my sugar cause I tested people freak out cause they don't believe me. :(

Random question.... when exercising/practing your BG should be at least 100g? What is to high? I have found that if I practice with a bg of 80ish it get high on it's own, if that is the case should I still make sure it is over 100?!

Experiment with this. If you are over 100 and dont increase, then I say go with it. It may prevent the body from dumping glucose which is causing a spike.

Aww... maybe.

Is a dump bad?

Hi Hardingnerd!

Must you be over 100 before starting exercise? No, but the effect of exercise is going to deplete the BG pretty fast. Having a slightly higher BG level before starting to exercise increases the duration of the BG as fuel for your muscle cells.

Is a liver dump bad? No, unless you aren't producing sufficient/any insulin to get that sugar into your muscle cells. For Type 1's and 1.5's a liver dump can be damaging because there is no way to regulate the amount of glycogen your liver will put in your blood stream and highs are almost inevitable. These people have to cover with injected insulin so that makes the dump more difficult to control.

As a Pre-D you (and the rest of us) have a pancreas that does function but something is amiss in our systems. Perhaps our pancreas is slow, perhaps we have built up insulin resistance from too much insulin due to inactivity or excessive intake of carbohydrates or even the body's signaling system is simply out-of-whack. However, our bodies will recover in time.

As to how you feel at any given time -- there can be a host of reasons, many of them not related to BG levels. Testing is the only way to be sure that your symptoms are, or are not, BG related.

Right now you need to concentrate on life-style modification because it works for a lot of Pre-D's and we don't have to take medications. If, over time, you cannot get things in control, then meds are in your future -- side effects and all that.

Finally, don't obsess. Managing your BG levels takes time and modification of your life. Once you have worked out the formula that works for you, life will feel more normal.
